CTC467 – Look who’s turning 30 again

Welcome to another CASEing the Catty Blog Hop. This week we are saying a final farewell to our current annual catalogue to make way for the new 2024-2025 annual catalogue which launches on 1st May 2024. How fast is this year flying by?!? It’s only a few more days and we will be into May. I needed to make a 70th birthday card for someone who doesn’t like admitting their age so decided to use this challenge for the occasion. Rather than a 70th birthday party, they had a 30 + 30 + 10th birthday party.

It was so hard to choose a favourite project from the annual catalogue, so I ended up choosing a few projects that used the same DSP and took different elements from the different cards. I did have to use a few retired items to get the result I needed for the finished project. I used the cards using the Bright & Beautiful DSP on page 14 as my inspiration.

I started with an Azure Afternoon card base. I loved the angles on the ‘You did it’ card that you can see in the image above, so I decided to make a tri-fold card with the front two panels cut on angles. I then cut various patterns from the Bright & Beautiful DSP and layered them on each of the panels.

I then cut a Bubble Bath circle out using the Deckled Circles Dies. On this I stamped Look who’s turning and {again} in Berry Burst ink and sponged some Bubble Bath ink around the outside. I then added a large 30 (retired dies) to the centre of the circle.

When you opened the first side there was another circle (in Blueberry Bushel) with + 30 on it and then a +10 on the inside of the right side on a Berry Burst circle.

You opened the final left panel to find the final sentiment. I didn’t have any current sentiments that worked, so I used the Back to Basics Alphabet stamp set (retired) to individually stamp out each of the letters on the various colours that make up the Bright & Beautiful DSP. Do you know how hard it is to get the letters to line up? Especially when you have to do them individually otherwise they were too far apart.

I added a panel on the back of the card to write on.

Next up on this week’s hop is Rebecca with her favourite project. Keep hopping around to see all of the design team’s creations.

Which is your favourite project from the annual catalogue? If you join in with this week’s challenge, don’t forget to share a photo of your project on our Facebook page.

Until next time, happy stamping

Michelle
